David Allerton is the Founder of SE-LF: Spa & Self-care Products, a business with a mission to do good for the body, the mind and the planet.
Following an unexpected 20-year career in the beauty industry, he identified two significant opportunities that now form the brand’s foundation. He saw that, because skincare is ritualistic and sensory, it could be a powerful and accessible vehicle for mindfulness, turning a daily routine into a deliberate moment of self-care to boost mental wellbeing.
At the same time, David confronted the industry’s addiction to single-use plastic. Believing reusability is the only way forward, he pioneered a circular model that has effectively brought “beer barrels to the beauty industry”, where packaging is returned, cleaned, sterilised, and refilled. This innovative approach, combined with a commitment to ethical, vegan, and carbon-neutral principles, ensures every SE-LF experience is truly good for you and the world around you.
