How can you tell who’s real from the charlatans and the chancers?
Take a look at their track record. Including the losses.
Here’s mine:
Economics Degree from the London School of Economics – so I know the theory AND the practice of both business and making money.
Awarded an MBE from the Queen for services to entrepreneurship and business; you can’t buy that.
At 21, I was the worlds only licensed female boxing manager working with the legendary Chris Eubank Snr.
At 23 I worked around a kitchen table with Sir James Dyson building the Dyson Brand from scratch and by 24 I had been personally head hunted by Sir Richard Branson.
But it’s been far from all plain sailing …
I founded Smarta in the midst of the global financial crisis in 2008/2009 and we barely survived. Smarta will always be the ‘one that got away’ … I learnt so much about who to have on your board, which investors to say NO to at all costs and that your job as CEO is not to have all the answers. We were 10 years ahead of our time, but the goodwill we built lives on.
I became the CEO of a $150 Million Technology fund and I’ve raised multiple rounds for my own companies; so I know what it’s like to be on both sides of the table.
Since then I’ve had 4 #1 best selling books in a row; including Stop Talking, Start Doing; which remained top of the WH Smith business book charts for 14 months in a row – breaking all their records.
Most recently, I have worked with talented and driven entrepreneurs to help them scale their businesses to 7 figures and beyond; including exits.
